Privacy and cookies

This page explains which personal data passes through this site, why, and what you can ask for. It is short and plain because the site does very little: it has only a contact form, no accounts, no analytics or profiling tools and no advertising.

Who is the controller

The data controller is Gianluca Iunco. For any question about your data you can write to privacy@gianlucaiunco.com.

Which data passes through the site

Browsing data. Like any website, this one runs on a server that automatically records some technical information on every visit: IP address, date and time, requested page, browser and operating system, referring page. It is needed to run the site and protect it from abuse; I do not use it to find out who you are and I do not combine it with other data.

Data you send me. If you email me using the address on the site, I receive the data you choose to give me (name, email address, content of the message). I use it only to reply and, if we end up working together, to manage that work.

Contact form. If you use the form on the Contact page, I store your name, email, message and, if you fill them in, company, phone, topic and how you found me. You receive an automatic confirmation email with fixed text (it does not contain your message). To protect the form from abuse I also store a code derived from your IP address, which cannot be turned back into the address, used only to limit the number of submissions. The form does not use cookies.

Why and on what legal basis

  • Browsing data: security and operation of the site, based on my legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Messages and contact form requests: answering your requests and, where needed, preparing a quote or an engagement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Code derived from the IP address in the form: protection from spam and abuse, based on my legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

I do not sell or hand over your data to anyone and I do not use it to send you advertising.

Who else processes it

Aruba S.p.A., which hosts the site, the requests database and the domain's mailboxes on servers in Italy and keeps the access logs, requests and email messages on my behalf, as data processor (Art. 28 GDPR). The data is not transferred outside the European Union.

How long

Server logs are kept by the provider for as long as needed for the security of the service and then deleted. I keep messages for as long as needed to handle the request and any resulting work, and in any case no longer than the law requires. Requests sent through the form are deleted automatically 24 months after the last contact if no work came out of them; otherwise they are kept for as long as needed to manage that work and meet legal obligations.

Cookies and browser storage

This site does not use profiling, analytics or third-party cookies, which is why there is no consent banner. Fonts are hosted on the site itself and pages do not load content from other services (no embedded videos, maps or social buttons).

  • Light/dark theme. If you use the button to switch theme, your browser remembers the choice in its local storage (localStorage, key theme). It stays on your device, is never sent to the server and you can clear it from your browser settings.
  • Admin area. The administration panel uses a technical session cookie needed to log in. Only whoever logs in to the panel receives it, not site visitors.

These are technical tools that, under the Italian Data Protection Authority guidelines of 10 June 2021, do not require consent.

Links to other sites

The site links to other services (for example GitHub, LinkedIn, Google Play, Ko-fi). When you open them you leave this site and their own privacy policies apply.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time to access, correct or delete your data, restrict its use, object to its processing or receive it in a readable format (Arts. 15–22 GDPR) by writing to privacy@gianlucaiunco.com. If you believe your data is being processed unlawfully you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

Changes

If the site changes (for example with a new external service) this page will be updated. The date of the last update is shown at the top.
