In breve

Chromecast e altri dispositivi Google Cast

Notifiche, Android Auto e Android TV

Minori

L'app è adatta a tutti, non chiede dati personali e tratta solo i dati tecnici descritti sopra.

I tuoi diritti

CoolZone WebRadio Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

This policy explains what data the CoolZone WebRadio app for Android (phones and tablets, Android Auto and Android TV) processes, why, and what rights you have.

Data controller

Gianluca Iunco — contact: privacy@gianlucaiunco.com

In short

Data stored on your device

The app stores only the cover images of the songs and shows on air on your device, in temporary storage (cache). It uses them in the player, the notification, the lock screen and Android Auto. It stores no other data and sends nothing to us.

You can delete the cover images at any time by clearing the app's cache in Android settings or by uninstalling the app.

Listening to the radio

When you press Play, the app receives the audio from the station's streaming server (https://tompalmer.radioca.st), which runs on Centova Cast. While the app is open, it checks the same server every few seconds to find out which song is on air. If the app stays in the background for more than five minutes, these requests are paused.

The app sends the server only the technical data of the connection, such as your IP address and the type of device and app. Like any streaming server, it sees the IP address of connected devices and counts active streams. This data may be recorded in the server's logs and statistics, which are managed by the streaming service provider.

CoolZone WebRadio website

To find out which cover image and show are on air, the app asks the CoolZone WebRadio website (https://coolzonewebradio.it). If the cover image is hosted on the website, the app downloads it from there. When you use Android Auto, the app refreshes this information about every ten seconds.

The website does not record these requests. However, its hosting service keeps standard access logs, which contain the technical data of the request, such as your IP address and the date and time.

Cover images from Apple (iTunes)

Many cover images come from Apple's music catalogue, and the app downloads them directly from Apple's servers. This happens in two cases:

In both cases Apple receives your device's IP address and handles data as an independent controller under its own policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Chromecast and other Google Cast devices

The app uses Google Cast, provided by Google through Google Play services, to play the radio on Chromecast, Google Nest, TVs and other compatible devices.

To show you the available devices, the app looks for them on your local Wi-Fi network. This is why it asks for permission to access the Wi-Fi state and to receive multicast traffic. When you choose a device, the app sends it the stream address, the title and artist of the song on air and an image to show on screen, usually a Chromecast icon hosted by Google (https://www.gstatic.com). The device then downloads the audio directly from the station's streaming server and the image from Google's servers.

If you do not use this feature, the app sends nothing to Cast devices. The Google Cast component sends Google anonymous data about how it works (for example device discovery and Cast session start), which Google uses in aggregate to improve the service. Data that Google processes through Google Cast and Google Play services is covered by Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Notifications, Android Auto and Android TV

While you listen, the app shows a notification with playback controls and the title, artist and cover image. On Android 13 and later it asks for your permission first. The notification also lets playback continue while the app is in the background. The same information appears on the lock screen, in Android Auto and on Android TV. It stays on your device, or on the connected car system, and is not sent to us.

Sharing and external links

If you tap the share button, the app prepares a message with the artist, the title and a link to the station's website, and passes it to Android's share menu. You decide whether to share it and with whom.

The app menu contains links to the station's website and its pages on Messenger, Facebook, Instagram and X. They open in your browser or in the matching app, and from that point those services' privacy policies apply.

Legal basis

The technical data described above is processed because it is needed to provide the service you chose to use: listening to the radio, seeing what is on air and, if you wish, playing it on a Cast device. Server logs are also kept to ensure the servers' security and proper operation (legitimate interest).

How long we keep data

Children

The app is suitable for everyone, does not ask for personal data and processes only the technical data described above.

Your rights

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to processing, and the right to data portability. To exercise them, write to privacy@gianlucaiunco.com. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Italy, this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (https://www.garanteprivacy.it).

Changes

If the app changes how it handles data, for example when an iOS version is released, we will update this page and the date at the top.
